Membership in APAA is open to all painters in Alabama and adjacent states as well as supporters of plein air painting. Anyone may become a member by sending a request to the Director. There are two classifications of membership, Active and Inactive.
Active Members. An Active member has participated in an APAA paint out within the past 12 months. Active members will receive all group emails, an annual membership directory, priority for limited participation events, and priority for non-juried show participation.
Inactive Members. All new members are considered inactive until they participate in a Paint Out. Members that have not participated in an APAA paint out within the past 12 months, are also considered inactive. Inactive members receive announcements for paint outs, shows, and general membership information. Inactive members may participate in events but will be placed on a wait list. An inactive member may become an active member by participating in one APAA-sponsored paint out or event during the year.
